Let's Talk

You are so much more than your pain. Robin Held Grief Coach offers proven tools, inspiration, and actionable steps for regaining your whole-hearted life. The coaching modalities I adapted for my practice helped me heal through a series of devastating losses, including the death by suicide of someone dear. They have had lasting impact on my well-being and relationships. I have shared them with hundreds of clients, who attest to powerful results. The high-value, life-long benefits of grief coaching are available to you, too.

I am a Certified Grief Educator committed to providing the highest level of grief support through education, experience, and insights into the often unacknowledged rocky terrain of grief. I was a member of the inaugural cohort of Certified Grief Educators trained by world-renowned grief expert, David Kessler. I bring to my coaching this unique methodology and set of tools,  along with decades of experience, to help people navigate the challenges of grief.

I am an Advanced Specialist, certified by the Grief Recovery Institute, in the Grief Recovery Method®, which offers proven tools, inspiration, and actionable steps to help individuals and groups deal with emotional pain and loss.

Prior to becoming a certified grief coach, I held executive and senior leadership positions in the arts for more than 30 years, with such organizations as the University of Washington’s Henry Art Gallery, The Frye Art Museum, and Washington State University’s Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art. I led high-impact teams and transformed organizations in times of dramatic change, including expansion, renewal, closure, and COVID-19-related distress. I hold a BA (University of California at Los Angeles), and an MA and PhD (University of Washington. Seattle).

Art has been my passion and purpose for as long as I can remember. Working directly with artists to bring their most ambitious dreams to life was a joy of my museum career.

Artist Mark Mitchell’s Urn is fragile artwork of exquisite beauty, comprising 250 layers of silk gauze, each hand-dyed, hand-tipped, and hand-stitched into a soft pouch to hold cremated human ashes.

This artwork is deeply meaningful to me and Mark Mitchell was generous to allow me to use it as an inspiring signature image. Mitchell’s grief story and his art are featured in the 2014 film Mark Mitchell: Burial, by director Marcy Stone-Francois.
